A beautiful linen dial, sub seconds example of a solid 18k rose gold 2897 SC, with an automatic Omega cal. 491 movement.
This example features a beautiful case made by ‘Wenger’, the inside caseback featuring the hallmark of a ‘Geneva Key’ #1. Wenger was one of the most prestigious and established case makers around and produced work for the very finest watch manufacturers.
The Geneva Key became mandatory with the Swiss Metal Act in 1934, to better control the trade of precious metal, although some manufacturers had already established and registered their own ‘Poincons de Maitre’ with the Central Bureau for the control of precious metals in Bern.
