A stunning, lesser-known piece from the 40mm Yachtmaster range, produced from solid 18k yellow gold, with a beautiful mother of pearl dial. This already beautiful dial, is further enhanced with brilliant cut ruby hour markers at 1,2,4,5,7,8,10 and 11 o’clock, then a ruby baguette at 6 o’clock and finally, an elongated trilliant cut ruby at 12 o’clock.

This piece benefits from retaining its original box and paperwork from when it was first purchased, along with full links.

Condition:-

This piece is in superb condition, having been very well cared for by its last owner.

The case features and surfaces on these are slightly more rounded than their modern counterparts and it therefore becomes trickier to spot those which have been poorly polished. However, if one looks carefully at this example it is clear to see that the original shape has been retained, unlike lots of the examples I can find listed for sale.

The case and bracelet show only minor marks from careful use and in terms of stretch, the bracelet isn't far off from how it would have left the factory.

The original dial, markers and handset are perfect, and the sapphire crystal has no damage.

Another thing to mention is that not all Mother of Pearl dials are created equal. This one however, happens to be beautifully balanced and exhibits plenty of character. It's a dial with a very strong presence.

Movement:-

There is no service history with this watch. However, the automatic Rolex cal. 3135 movement is running very strong indeed and does not require a service, as confirmed by my Rolex trained and accredited watchmaker. The watch has also been pressure tested recently.

I guarantee the authenticity and the working order of this piece at the time of sale, and will offer a 6 month extended warranty. Even though this is a sports watch and has been pressure tested, please don’t expect this piece to be waterproof, being 26 years old. Use in water is at your own risk and is not covered by the warranty.

I have grown quite fond of this watch, having admired it on a regular basis for a number of years. Owned by a family member, I know how much care has been taking in preserving it's condition.
