Baume & Mercier, ref: 37071 T. Solid 18k Yellow Gold.

£7,995.00

Baume & Mercier Baumatic, ref: 37071 T. Solid 18k Yellow Gold.

Without the original paperwork, vintage Baume & Mercier watches are tricky to put an exact date on, because accurate serial/date decoders aren't readily available.

This gents piece was manufactured somewhere between 1965 and 1975. Piaget became the majority shareholders in the brand in 1964, with Cartier becoming the major shareholders in both brands in 1988. Fairly soon after, the brand was acquired by the Richemont Group. Only Baume & Mercier would be able to say an exact production date for sure.

This solid 18k piece is of an understated, but beautiful quality and design, and produced with a 34mm x 30mm case. It is fitted with a sapphire cabochon crown. With regards movement, it is fitted with an automatic micro-rotor caliber. In gold weight alone, this is a weighty piece at just over 100g, gross.

Condition:-

This piece really is in superb condition. The case and bracelet show only small signs of gentle use, retaining their incredible factory finish. This piece has been looked after extremely well.

The ref. number and serial numbers on the factory brushed case back, are still perfectly clear. The original dial and handset are perfect, and the crystal is too.

The extremely well executed bracelet and clasp remain crisp. Again, with the hallmarks fully visible. Depending on the fit required, this bracelet may have to be adjusted by a goldsmith, in order to be perfect.

Movement:-

There is no service history with this watch. However, the automatic BM Cal. 12820, micro-rotor movement is running nicely.

I guarantee the authenticity and the working order of this piece at the time of sale, and will offer a 3 month extended warranty. Please don’t expect this piece to be waterproof.
