Cartier Colisée, Solid 18k Yellow Gold.

A Cartier Colisée, produced in solid 18k Yellow Gold with a Quartz movement. According to the paperwork, from 1984.

Introduced during the 1980’s, the Colisée perfectly captures Cartier’s ability to blend classical design cues with a distinctly modern elegance. Its defining feature is the beautifully rounded case, framed by the signature stepped bezel and integrated lugs, creating a silhouette that feels both sculptural and effortlessly refined.

This particular 24mm example is especially attractive, with its warm 18k solid yellow gold case contrasting beautifully against the classic, pale Cartier dial, complete with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The sapphire cabochon crown provides the finishing touch to what is one of Cartier’s most understated yet recognisable designs from the period.

The proportions are superb on the wrist. Elegant and discreet, yet unmistakably Cartier.

This particular piece comes with a service box and x4 pieces of paperwork showing authenticity and service work details.

A Personal Note:-

The Colisée sits slightly under the radar compared to some of the other ladies pieces from the Cartier catalogue, which is exactly why I like it. It has all the charm and design language you would expect from Cartier. A genuinely classy piece that works just as well today as it did in the mid-1980’s.

Condition:-

The case, bracelet & clasp are in very nice condition, showing only light signs of careful use commensurate with age. The hallmarks, Cartier engravings and numbering remain clear and well defined. The ‘SWISS’ dial is spotless and very attractive, with the printing remaining crisp and the blued hands presenting well. Cartier's secret signature is of course present and visible under a loupe. The sapphire crystal is free from any scratches, while the Sapphire cabochon crown remains in excellent condition.

I have chosen to leave this ‘as found’. However, if required my watchmaker can polish the gold back to ‘as new’ condition.

This piece should fit up to a 15.5cm wrist size, but links can easily be removed.

Movement:-

The Cartier quartz cal. 057, 4 jewel Swiss movement is running exactly as it should, with the crown and time-setting functions operating correctly.

I guarantee the authenticity and the working order of this piece at the time of sale, and offer a 6 month extended warranty. Please don’t expect this watch to be waterproof.
