Tudor Submariner ref:7928. Gilt. 1967

This reference was never actually on my hit list. I stumbled across its listing on ebay one evening, and with only a handful of dreadful pictures to look at, I thought there was a faint possibility it might go under the radar. It did. Not only could I see how honest it was as a whole, but I loved the look of the original ‘long 5’insert, which had developed a blue-ish tone. Yes, the dial has lost its original glossy finish, but the way it has degraded is very charming. Paired with a modern Forstner ladder bracelet, this piece gets picked up lots.
