Zenith, 18k. 1938

Found at a local auction house whilst visiting to look at another piece. Dirty and badly presented, but I was immediately drawn to the case design as I’d never seen anything much like it. Solid 18k yellow gold with the barrel lug at 12 o’clock slightly articulated. A lovely gilt dial and a manually wound movement still running well.

As usual, an in depth clean ensued after I got it home, some regulation, the hunt for a replacement sliding pinion, a new plexiglass and a careful measure-up for a bespoke strap.
